Newmark Hotels adds La Maison d’Été Hotel in Mauritius to portfolio

Newmark Hotels, Reserves, Lodges and Residences has added La Maison d’Été Hotel in Mauritius to its growing list of properties across Africa.

The acquisition of La Maison d’Été resembles the South African company’s first on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.

La Maison d’Été is set within an enclave of white sand beaches, azure ocean waters and tropical vegetation in the resort town of Grand Baie –around a 35-minute drive from capital city Port Louis.

The contemporary hotel offers four room types: Standard, Superior, Deluxe and La Vigie – all with a private terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean. La Vigie is a private haven set on stilts offering spectacular ocean views.

Newmark CEO Neil Markovitz said: “Mauritius has always been part of our expansion vision, due to its unique setting and capacity to offer our guests a true escape in a luxurious location.

“La Maison d’Été has garnered a reputation as a favourite beachside retreat among discerning leisure travellers and we are committed to enhancing this offering by adding even more imaginative and lavish touches to make this the ultimate Mauritian escape.”

The majority of Newmark’s properties are in South Africa although it does have hotel in the mainland of Tanzania and on the island of Zanzibar.
