NexusEngage opens South African office

ABN – NexusEngage’s first South African office is due to open in Cape Town on 23 February.

It will offer a full range of the company’s windows, lounges and experiential services.

As the company begins to expand its services internationally it can now offer its customers the opportunity to grow experiential marketing campaigns on a global scale.

NexusEngage CEO Simon Ellson said: “As one of the world’s fastest growing emerging markets, large shopping centres are found across all of South Africa’s cities and towns, and this provides a great opportunity for brands to gain exposure directly in front of consumers.

“Opening an office is South Africa is a further credit to the NexusEngage concept.

“We plan to continue to grow internationally with a further six office openings planned this year.

“We look forward to working with our new colleagues in South Africa and feel confident they will help us further establish the NexusEngage brand into global markets.“

Greenfield Assets to construct Nigeria’s first Smart Mall

ABN – Greenfield Assets Limited has partnered with the Abia State government to develop Africa’s largest mall and the first purpose-built Smart Mall in the world.

The US$260 million Aba Mega Mall will sit on 280,000 square metres in the Abia State of Nigeria.

Around 5,800 shops will be housed by the mall, which will have amenities such as 24 hours electricity supply, banks, game arcades, a petrol station, cinema and bus shuttle.

The facilities will be connected to an e-commerce hub to give customers fast access to information and services for business activities without being present in the mall.

Greenfield managing director Paul Obanua said: “The Mega Mall project is geared towards creating a commercial hub for the entire eastern and south-south regions of the country, designed to stimulate the urban renewal of Aba city, by providing a structured facility where trading and other commercial activities can be done in an orderly manner.

“This project attempts to sanitise the city by giving the people of Aba a dignified trading centre, which from a survey conducted by us, the traders and dwellers in the city are eager to have operational.”

AramShop expands into Kenyan market

ABN – India-based online retailer AramShop has partnered with Kenyan players to expand its business into the country.

The local players will now own the right to use the company’s successful business model to promote services of small consumer goods companies by selling their products through its site.

AramShop CEO Vijay Singh said: “We would test the limits of our technology in new markets such as Nairobi in East Africa, Vietnam and Indonesia in South-East Asia and even the UAE through the franchise model.”

AramShop allows customers to create a shopping list through its website and the company then directs these orders to local shops for delivery to the customer.
