Sun International acquires Peermont Group

ABN – Sun International will acquire the hotel and casino operator Peermont Group for US$765 million.

The acquisition will see the company move into the casino industry for the first time as it looks for new growth opportunities.

Peermont owns Emperors Palace in Gauteng, which will increase Sun International’s gaming revenue.

Sun International is also looking into Asian and South American markets where casino and gaming are big.


Flydubai increases African flights

ABN – Flydubai has announced plans to increase its number of flights to East and North Africa.

Later this month the number of flights to the region will increase to 78 flights going to 12 destinations every week.

Flights to South Sudan will be increased from five flights per week to daily and three flights will now go to Burundi every week instead of two.

The original two flights per week to Zanzibar will be upped to four and travel to Egypt will be increased to three flights a day from two.

Flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith said: “We are delighted to offer more flights to Africa.

“We were the first UAE carrier to serve Bujumbura, Juba and Zanzibar.

“We have seen strong demand for travel across our network in Africa, and we look forward to welcoming more passengers on board our flights.”


Tunis Air partners with Stade de Reims

ABN – Tunis Air has announced a new partnership with French football club Stade de Reims, which will see players wear the company’s logo.

Details of the finances and length of the contract were not disclosed by the company.

Tunis Air’s logo will be worn on player’s shorts for official matches as well as its branding and insignia being featured on the display boards at the stadium.

Company CEO Slaheddine Blidi said: “It is with great pride that we partner with Stade de Reims.

“As Tunis Air grows, Stade de Reims is a great partner for our development.”
