ABN - Indian media company Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) has announced it will broadcast two new channels on Africa’s new pay-TV network, Kwesé TV.
Zee Bollymovies is set to bring ‘Bollywood magic’ to African audiences, while Zee Bollynova promises to provide ‘memorable moments’, offering a collation of entertainment and food shows.
Amit Goenka, CEO of international broadcast business at ZEEL said: “With great similarities between the two cultures, Africa has always shown a tremendous appreciation for rich, vibrant Bollywood content.”
He added: “Our two previously launched, specially customised channels, Zee World and Zee Magic, have been warmly received by viewers, resulting in a three-fold increase in our viewership since our entry into the continent in 2015.
“This love and appreciation for our content has encouraged us to introduce two new channels, Zee Bollymovies and Zee Bollynova.”
Kwesé TV launches next month in Ghana, Zambia and Rwanda and will soon be available in Botswana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
