GE offers $100,000 of grants to Ghana students

ABN – General Electric (NYSE: GE) has agreed to provide grants worth US$100,000 to students studying for Bsc in Applied Sciences at the University of Ghana.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between GE and the university’s management is part of a broader collaboration between GE and tertiary institutions in Ghana on capacity development.

GE Ghana CEO Leslie Nelson said the gesture is a sign of GE’s commitment to human capital development and localising its operations in the country.

He added: “Our localisation plan also includes technology collaboration, development of Ghanaian suppliers and investment in human capacity.”
