ABN - Dubai-based building materials company Danube Group has revealed plans to look for franchise partners in African countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria.
The firm said it is already selling its products in the aforementioned markets, but sees franchising as the preferable route for the future in terms of expanding and strengthening its presence on the continent.
“We are targeting the African market," said Danube’s managing director Anis Sajan. “We already have a franchise partner in Tanzania, so now we are looking for similar partners in the other African countries.”
Danube’s year-to-date performance increased by 30% since last year, according to Sajan. “Last year, it was 20% increase [compared to 2015]. Next year, we are aiming to maintain our growth rate at 30%.”
The company was formed in 1993 as a small trading firm, but has grown into a major building and materials company in the Middle East with several divisions including materials, home décor, properties and lifestyle.
